Mr. Salman Waris comes from a prominent and highly respected Aligarh based family that has contributed significantly to the development of the community in the country as Academicians, Professors, freedom fighters, social worker, Member of Parliament, Governor and Chief Minister. He has over the years been actively involved with the family’s community and charity initiatives, supporting the less privileged members of the society through the Dharampur Family Trust.
Mr. Waris is also the Founder of TechLegis LLC, a U.A.E based boutique consulting practice, active in the GCC and AMEA region. He acts as an Advisor with UAE based Venture Fund and decentralized venture studio – DeepMinds. Besides, Mr. Waris mentors startups as part of the Microsoft MENA Startups Mentorship & Ambassador program. He is “Regtech” Co-Chair at Big Innovation Centre, a UK based, exclusive technology & innovation network involving global leaders and regulators focusing on AI.

Recent IICC focused Initiatives • Hosting a Russian Business Delegation involving 30 Russian Businessmen, Lawyers and Professionals in April 2023 at IICC in collaboration with Strasbourg (France) based European Centre for Legal Cooperation.
• Organising a Startup-Investors Meet in Oct 2023 involving selected startups from India, UAE, Australia and US in collaboration with Chandigarh Angels Network, TiE, IndusInd Bank, TechLegis Foundation, Dharampur Family Trust.
• Hosting numerous members of the diplomatic corps from Australia, US, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Egypt, KSA and introducing them to IICC.
Community Initiatives
• Scholarships to 100 primary and secondary girl students from BPL Families through Dharampur Family Trust at AMU for the past 10 years.
• Internships & training to students from weaker section of Society through TechLegis Foundation.
• Turkish EarthQuake Relief & Gaza Relief providing Sleeping bags, tents, iftaars, sponsoring 2 orphans for year and bearing cost of running Gaza Hospital for a Day.
• “Ifaar for All” – part of core team that conceptualized, supported and executed the campaign.

Mr. Mohd. Salman Waris aims to work towards making the Centre a community focused regional hub for:
• Thought Leadership – advocating & influencing Govt. policy on national and community issues by participating in Govt. Consultations and organising stakeholder meeting for a more participative Policy making;
• Innovation – promoting culture for community based Innovation, by setting up a startup hub, mentors panel from different business sectors and expertise;
• International Collaboration – outreach for collaboration by signing collaboration agreements and MOU’s with other cultural centres, societies and community organisations in different parts of the Islamic World to promote India and India Culture internationally.
